Here's the remaining panel that I've extracted from one of the two sheets of backer-board and this is as good a place as any, where it serves five different functions:
(1) It deflects the efflux from the propellers to provide for lift in ground-effect;
(2) It provides a foot-rest for cases where a seat is provided on the centre-deck;
(3) It supports the two pontoons to either side that support the hydroskis in turn;
(4) It streamlines fuel-tanks or battery-packs installed beneath the centre-deck;
(5) It provides for extra buoyancy at the forward end of the craft.
