Introduced in the same year as that Mini, ferry Royal Iris is set to be scrapped after having sent some seventeen million passengers on their way. I'd have used it any number of times as a teenager, when we'd travel across the river to pass the time of day... tickets were only required upon arrival and so if you returned to the pier above at Liverpool the ride came for free.
