Here's a view of the prow and I used a plastic wedge left over from a concrete-panel outbuilding kit in lieu of what will eventually be a 3-D printed article that will appear amongst my exorbitantly-priced merch. Note the ski is short of the front end of the beam, for this allows you to pop a rubber foot on there so that the cat can be stood on its end to dry out.
